Sandbags that Casey and some other guys from church filled and stacked to protect this poor apartment complex from the water!
This picture (below) was taken after a lot of the water had already dried up. The water went up to the doorsteps!
Lots of water...but most of it is drying up now. Thank goodness!! :)

Our flooding does not dry up in the heat, because it's coming from snow melt high in the mountain and the hotter it gets the higher the river flows - only it takes hours to get to this part of the valley. So we find out about the floods in the middle of the night.
This year, however, we've been filling sandbags for weeks. I've even done my share, believe it or not. It's backbreaking work, but the best prevention we've found. See, when everyone's really prepared, it seems like we never end up using it. So far it's working.
